GI Joe Season 1 Part 1 DVD
The Rotten Egg
Written By Steve Mitchell and Barbara Petty
It begins with the Joes destroying a Cobra weapons lab. Leatherneck receives a letter asking him to attend a military academy's graduation. He goes and discovers that it is the Cobra Elite Corps Academy and it is run by a former promising Marine, McCann, who turned bad. Meanwhile the Joes and Leatherneck are expected at Parris Island (the USMC boot camp) for graduation ceremonies. The CEC Cadets hunt down Leatherneck as a training exercises then head to Parris Island with McCann to destroy Parris Island. Leatherneck escapes (wearing a hospital gown) and manages to get to Parris Island right as the CEC Cadets launch their surprise attack and capture the commandant. Leatherneck wrestles McCann to the ground and the Joes stop the CEC Cadets and Parris Island is saved.



Cobrathon
Written By Martin Pasko & Rebecca Parr
A group of Joes sneak into a Cobra base doing reconnaissance and find some computer print outs and decoder boxes. Sci-FI and Lifeline are captured. At HQ, the Joes discover that Cobra is having a Telethon to raise money for a computer virus that would wipe out the computer systems of the FBI, Scotland Yard, ect. Sci-Fi and Lifeline are tortured as entertainment and the Joes figure out they must be in a casino. Flint and his group are sent to find the studio while Mainframe and Duke head to the location of Cobra's host computer. Flint, et al. are attacked by the Dreadnoks in Vegas and find the studio. They rescue Sci-Fi and Lifeline and Mainframe destroys the host computer just as the virus would have been activated.



Into Your Tent I Will Silently Creep

The Joes are highly annoyed by Cross Country's country music are glad when his tape deck is destroyed during a Cobra battle. When his new tape deck is stolen back at HQ, he intends to find out what's going on and sets a trap. He spots a robotic rat stealing the tape deck and he follows it to a Cobra meeting of the Coil, a group against Serpentor lead by Cobra Commander. All over base the next morning things are turning up missing, including a computer disk. Cross Country manages to escape the Coil and send a message to the Joes. A huge force of Joes is sent in and they destroy the underground base, rescue the slaves and retrieve the missing disk, only to find out that the disk contains a computer game.

Computer Complications

A space probe containing anti-matter crashes into the ocean and both Joes and Cobra try to retrieve it. The Joes are using robot subs, which are reprogrammed to fend off a Cobra sub. Zarana goes to the Joe base pretending to be Sgt. Carol Weebler, a computer specialist and tries to reprogram the robot subs to work for Cobra. She is suppose to kill Mainframe, but ends up falling in love with him. She does eventually end up electrocuting him when the Dreadnok's break in, but rescues him from a bomb. Cobra sends in a huge flying aircraft carrier to get the probe, which the Joes have recovered. Cobra steals the probe and uses the anti-matter to power their aircraft, which then crashes into the USS Flagg. Both sink with the anti-matter aboard.



Last Hour To Doomsday

Cobra has put a machine called the vortex cone underwater near the Panama Canal. The Joes know about Cobra's plan and intercept Baroness' hydrofoil, but the Baroness escapes. Lady Jaye (disguised as the Baroness) and Flint go to the Cobra base. Lady Jaye access their computer and steals some information before the real Baroness arrives. She and Flint barely escape and return to Joe HQ with the badly damaged computer disk. Meanwhile, Cobra Comm has demanded that the US surrender to Cobra or he will use the giant vortex (which causes huge title waves) to destroy the East Coast. The Joes send a fake fleet out into the Atlantic. Cobra falls for the bait and they know where the underwater base and the giant vortex cone are. The Joes are first pushed back by the BATs guarding the base and must hide in the robots they have with them. LJ and Flint are captured, but escape. They radio Joe HQ. Mainframe has figured out a way to read the disk which contains the plans for the vortex cone and tells Wet Suit which panel to take out. The Joes come out of the robots and attack the underwater base. The base exploded, everything makes it out safely and Shipwreck has a BAT arm stuck on his leg.

Sink The Montana

The Joes are at the decommissioning ceremony for a battle ship, the USS Montana. However, the Montana's captain, Admiral George Lattimer, has different plans. Cobra seizes the Montana and Lattimer joins Cobra. Gen. Hawk, a friend of Lattimer's, tries to reason with the admiral, but can't. Destro uses the pulse modulator to defend the ship, which causes anything in the surrounding 2 mile radius to loose powers. The Montana heads to destroy the Atlantic Fleet. After the Joes' aircraft and hovercraft are destroyed by the pulse modulator, they launch an unauthorized strike against the Montana using the old wind-driven USS Constitution. The Joes board the Montana just as the Atlantic fleet intercepts the it. Destro sets the automatic gun control and escapes. The fleet fires at the Montana. Lattimer helps the Joes stop the guns, but the fleet continues to fire and sinks the Montana. Lattimer wants to go down with his ship, but Hawk drags him overboard. (Note: Neil Ross does 2 of Hawk's lines)



Let's Play Soldier

The Joes raid a village in SE Asia. The villagers there are collecting tree sap for Cobra. The sap hypnotizes people and Cobra plans to put it in everything from gum to toothpaste. In Bangkok, Leatherneck and Gung-Ho befriend some "dust children" (kids fathered by American GI's who live on the street). One of the kids had stolen a Cobra knife at an inn. The kids lead the Joes back there, where they met up with the Dreadnoks. The Dreadnoks speed away on the a Swampfire and the Joes follow them and are captured. At the airbase, a woman tells the other Joes that Cobra is at her village. But the woman is really Zarana and she leads the Joes into a trap. The kids follow Zarana to Cobra's base and free Leatherneck and the others. Leatherneck stops Dr. Mindbender and a plane carrying the mind control sap. The Joes want the kids to come to the US, but they decide to stay in Thailand. (Note: Neil Ross does all of Beach Head's lines)

Million Dollar Medic

In the Joe/Cobra battle in the Caribbean, a civilian yacht is sunk. Lifeline rescues the family on board and Bree Van Mark (voice- Sue Blu) falls in love with him. She sends him a series of gifts that only cause more trouble. Cobra is after her father, a wealthy industrialist whose holding include a defense company. But the Joes think that Bree is working for Cobra since some of her gifts, including a gold plated helicopter, have backfires. She flies off in a Tomahawk taking Lifeline with her. They head to a cabin in the Rockies and are followed by Cobra. Lifeline, who is a pacifist, must fend off Cobra until the Joes arrive.



Once Upon A Joe...

Cobra Stratovipers attempt to steal the McGuffin Device, which no one knows what it really does. However, GI Joe stops them. In the process, the McGuffin device falls from the firebat into the woods and another Firebat crashes into an orphanage. The Joes save the kids then rebuild the orphanage. Zartan goes alone (since the Dreadnoks are engaged in a deep philosophical debate about mints) to recover the McGuffin Device. After wreaking havoc on the construction site, Shipwreck ends up telling the orphans a ridiculous fairy tale about The Duke and his three sons (Leatherhead, Frog Face and Ship Shape) and their quest to get some hamburgers. Beach Head has Shipwreck go check for unexploded missiles in the forest. Shipwreck finds the McGuffin Device and Zartan finds him. However, Zartan's Swampfire is located by the Joes, so she disguises himself as Shipwreck and ends up telling the rest of Shipwreck's story. One of the orphans, Jenny, knows something is wrong and goes off and finds the real Shipwreck. Zartan uses one of the orphans, Bobby (voice David Mendenhall), as a hostage to escape, but Shipwreck stops him and activates the McGuffin Device. The characters from his story come to life and the Cobra jets fall apart. Shipwreck finishes his story.

Glamour Girls

Madame Vail (voice- Mary McDonald Lewis) agrees to sell her youth transference machine, which makes people young (and beautiful), in return for kidnapping some of the world's top models, who's youth and beauty will be transferred to the machine's user. One of these models is Low Light's sister, Una. Low Light and Dial Tone help Una and her friend, Satin, move when the girls receive an invitation for a modeling secession. Upon hearing that Una has disappeared and that the modeling studio is owned by Extensive Enterprises, the Joes get involved and sent Lady Jaye and Cover Girl in undercover as models. They are hypnotized by the camera, as the other models were, and are taken to a dungeon on Madame Vail's island, along with Zarana, who the Dreadnok's hypnotized because she was bossing them around. A group of Joes following LJ and CG are captured, but Zartan releases them so that they will rescue the models and Zarana. Meanwhile, the models bust out of the dungeon and Una is taken to the transference machine. The Joes arrive and Low Light is able to blast the machine and save Una, but Madame Vail is left without a face.



Iceberg Goes South

The Joes are in an arctic region training and testing new equipment. Iceberg meets up with his girl friend, Mahea, who's collecting tissue samples of animals for her uncle's research at the Tropadome- a large dome that's tropical inside (think Biodome). Iceberg goes there to visit her and is captured by mutant creatures. Inside the Tropadome, Dr. Mindbender is mutating people into animals and creating a mutant army for Cobra. The Joes notice that Iceberg is missing and send Wet Suit and Snow Job after him. Snow Job is then captured. Wet Suit radios Beach Head for reinforcements. The Joes attack the Tropadome only to find out that Iceberg has been mutated into a huge killer whale. Iceberg then escapes and the Joes have to track him down. They reverse the process by feeding him raw meat that turns him human again.



The Spy That Rooked Me

A James Bond type secret agent, Matthew Burke, stops Dr. Mindbender from obtaining some nerve gas. He takes it to a remote base where the Joes are training. Four top Joes are sent to escort the gas to a weapons arsenal. They are ambushed by Cobra, but Burke saves them. But then Burke takes the nerve gas. Eventually, after evading Cobra, the Joes end up captured and Dr. Mindbender gets the gas. With Burke's help they try to get it back, only to have Mindbender throws it at them. When Flint goes to smother it, he learns that it's only cream soda and that they were only a decoy since Zarana had infiltrated the base.



Grey Hairs And Growing Pains
Written by Dave Marconi and Rick Merwin
Cobra steals Madame Versalles youth treatment. The Joes try to figure out why and that leads them to the Ageless Care Spa and it spokespeople, an actress and a pro football player. After being roughed up by the spokespeople, they go to the spa undercover. While in the sun room, Flint, Sci-Fi and Gung Ho age about 50 years and in the steam room Lady Jaye, Mainframe and Dial Tone turn into 7 years old. With the help of the actress, the group goes to a secret Cobra base and manage, with the help of Zarana who's still in love with Mainframe, return to their normal ages and get the formula back.

My Brother's Keeper

In an effort to fix the Voltronic Galaxider, Cobra recruits a brilliant young quantum physicist named Jeremy Penser (voice- Neil Ross), who's in a wheel chair, at a Science Fiction convention and promise to make him walk in return for his help. Sgt. Slaughter, Sci-Fi and Penser's brother, Timothy, go to rescue him. At first Jeremy refuses to leave and fixes the machine. But then, when forces to use the device on his brother, sets it to overload. While Sarge takes on the Dreadnoks, Tim and Sci-Fi rescue Jeremy.



My Favorite Things

Serpentor is stealing personal mementos and things of the historical figures who's DNA was used to create him (and storing them in Cobra Comm's chambers). The next item on Serpentor's list is Ulrik The Batterer's battle ax, Skull Spliter, which is in a weapons museum in The Netherlands. That happens to be the location of GI Joe/NATO war games. Some Joes on their way to lunch are near the museum when Cobra crashes through the dikes. Leatherneck fights with Serpentor and gets the ax. From the Serpentor's face (which takes on the appearance of that part of his DNA), the Joes know that his next target is Dracula. Wet Suit goes in alone to Dracula's castle and is nearly impaled, but saved by Leatherneck. Seeking revenge for ruining his ax, Serpentor throws a dart tips with his venomous blood that ends up stabbing Leatherneck in the back. Lifeline and Wet Suit go to Serpentor's next target in India to get some of Serpentor's blood to create an anti-venom to cure Leatherneck. Serpentor finds King Tashaka's pet giant Cobra, who's venom is the pure form of the venom in Serpentor's blood. Wet Suit has to resort to letting the snake bite him to recover some of the venom. Wet Suit blows up the Cobra mothership, they return home and soon Wet Suit and Leatherneck are up to their usual antics. (Note: Hawk has the wrong voice for one line in this episode)



Raise The Flagg

The Joes stumble upon an oil platform being used by Cobra to try to salvage the anti-matter pod that went down with the USS Flagg and the Cobra helicarrier. (which were sunk in the episode Computer Complications) It's learned that they are resting on a ledge, in range for divers to reach. So a team of Joes are sent to explore the wreckage, with Zartan and his siblings are on their tails. Both groups are captured by an insane Cobra cook named LaCar, and who's maintaining an underwater city in the wreckage. Cobra attacks the oil platform. Depth charges rock the wrecks from the ledge and knock some sense into LaCar. The Joes & Cobra trapped inside team up to use the anti-matter pod to raise the Flagg and the helicarrier.

G.I.Joe and the Golden Fleece

There is a Joe/Cobra battle over the Suez Canal when a spacecraft flies overhead and drops a glowing coil. When Joe and Cobra teams are dispatched to investigate, they are sent back to Ancient Greece. Lady Jaye retrieves the coil, and the Joes and Cobra try to find her. Meanwhile, all are believed to be gods by the locals. Once all the Joes and Cobras are together, LJ zaps the coil again and the group returns home. The spacecraft then takes the coil back and flies off.

The Most Dangerous Thing In The World

Cobra takes advantage of Gen. Hawk going to a NATO meeting in Europe and infiltrates the Dept of Defense's computers and promotes Lifeline, Dial Tone and Shipwreck (who's not even in the army) to colonel. The three can't cooperate and are not quite officer material. Cobra capitalizes on the situation and attacks a research lab near the Joes' base. The Joes are defeated easily and fall back to Joe HQ. Hawk arrives in the nick of time and organizes a counter offensive, pushing Cobra back.

Ninja Holiday

Sci-Fi, Wet Suit, Beach Head and Slaughter attack a Cobra base in SE Asia. Back at the hotel Wet Suit gets an invitation to a martial arts competitions hosted by an international criminal. Sarge gets mad and takes a phone call for him, only to be ambushed by ninjas. Sarge finds himself in a bloodsport with the prize being to assassinate Serpentor. While the rest of the Joes look for Sarge, he fights his way through a boxing French chief, a barely dressed native and finally Wet Suit. The Joes arrive and free the captive and Cobra. Comm discovers his assassin is Sarge.



Nightmare Assault

All of the Joes are having nightmare involving a huge snake attacking them. At first they feel that it is due to the stress of the situation. As the nightmares continue, it begins to affect the Joes performance fighting Cobra. In fact, Cobra is controlling the Joes' dreams in an effort to disable them. Once the Joes figure out they are all having similar dreams they funnel all their dreams through Low Light, who has long suffered nightmares. Low Light fights Dr. Mindbender, the Somulator is destroyed and all the Joes, especially Low Light, can get a good nights rest.

Joes' Night Out

Wet Suit, Leatherneck Dial Tone and their dates attend the grand opening of a trendy new night club. The club turns out to be on a Cobra rocket and is sent into orbit around earth. Cobra demands that Dr. Melany surrender himself and his nitrogen fuel engine over to Cobra or they will detonate the club. Wet Suit goes outside the club and, with Leatherneck's help, disables the bombs. Meanwhile, Dr. Melany surrenders to Cobra. The Joes use the Nitrogen engine to bring the Club back to Earth and Dr. Melany escapes, when all of the Cobra jets with the new engines crash.

Second Hand Emotions

A group of Joes are attending Lifeline's sister's wedding while other Joes are at a nearby weapons depot testing new armor. The Dreadnoks are able to attach small receivers to the back of the Joes' necks and capture Roadblock. Dr. Mindbender uses an organ to send signals to the receivers that controls the Joes emotions. Lifeline makes a scene at the wedding and the Joes go joyriding on a trolley nearly killing the other Joes. Cobra think they have the Joes completely incapacitated by their overwhelming emotions until the Joes are able to overcome their fears. Serpentor destroys the organ and the receivers are also destroyed.



Not A Ghost Of A Chance

Lady Jaye and Hawk are on the tv show Twenty Questions (hosted by Hector Remerez(voice- Neil Ross)) debating with Cobra Comm, Serpentor and Dr. Mindbender whether or not Cobra shot down a prototype jet, the Ghost. Meanwhile, both Joe and Cobra forces search for the two pilots who ejected. Flint think that LJ is cheating on him with one of those pilots, but finds out he's wrong that the end. It all turns out to be a ruse. Hector is actually in a cargo jet accompanying the second prototype Ghost. Serpentor isn't watching the tv and sends Night Ravens after the second Ghost and the battle is broadcast live on national tv. The Joes Conquests and the Ghost shoot down the Night Ravens and the pilots are rescued.

Sins Of Our Fathers

Cobra Comm tries to communicate with the creature in the pit at Destro's ancestral home in Scotland and fails. Meanwhile, Dial Tone is discharged from the Joes and is hired to work on a communications project that turns out to be communicating with the creature. Flint is sent to spy on Dial Tone in disguise. Dial Tone gets the machine to work and Cobra Comm tells it to destroy Serpentor. Dial Tone learns he was only kicked out of the Joes so he would be recruited by Cobra. The Joes must team up with Cobra to stop the monster. Destro uses his ancestors' chant to lure the creature out to sea where it is buried on the bottom. In the end, Cobra claims victory since the Joes retreated because they were running low on fuel and ammo and Dial Tone was a Joe again.

In The Presence Of Mine Enemies

Slipstream in his Conquest intercepts a Cobra message, which contains an important command code. A squadron of Night Raven are sent after him. He and one of the Night Ravens crash land on an remote island Cobra base. The Stratoviper, a lady named Raven, is injured and not very friendly towards Slipstream. But when BATs land on the island and start firing on both of them, the are forced to team up and enter the abandoned Cobra base. The BATs chase them through a sub level where they encounter monster which was the result of one of Dr. Mindbender's experiments gone wrong. Slip Stream radios the Joes for help. But when Raven radios Cobra for help, she learns that Dr. Mindbender has been monitoring them all along and she is going to be left there as monster-bait. She and Slip Stream use the intercepted command code to activate the base's self-destruct system. They are rescued by GI Joe and Raven quits Cobra.
